Another
look at who had a good weekend and who had a bad one.
Winners:
Roberto
Mancini: In this
column again mainly for the fact that he has had such a tough time of it in the
Champions League but has come back after difficult mid-week results to win. It
might just be that if he stays in touch with the top of the table his league
form will save his job.
Liverpool: Proving that they can still play
with the big boys, Liverpool make it 5 league games in a row unbeaten
against Chelsea. They are also unbeaten in the league in 6.
Now they just have to start getting good results against the little teams.
Comebacks: Fulham and then Arsenal both staged
comebacks only to draw with each other. Everton, Man United and Man City
all came from behind this weekend to win in what seems to be the season of the
comeback.
West
Ham: Surprise
results like this could see Sam Allardyce’s men stay in the top half of the
table all season long.
Losers:
Newcastle: For every
winner there is a loser and on the other side of the West Ham coin lie Newcastle, Alan Pardew
will be wondering exactly what has happened to last season’s form, especially
as his squad lost no key players.
Chelsea: The Blues have 2 points from three games. Admittedly
two of those games were against Man United and Liverpool but they were at home,
Roberto Di Matteo will have to drag Chelsea
out of this ‘rut’ very quickly.
Mark
Hughes: Things are
just going from bad to worse and Rangers now sit dead last, the odds on him
being first manager to be sacked have shortened over this weekend and you can
now get odds of 6/5.
